Guillaume Grosbard

French cellist Guillaume Grosbard has been playing with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra since 2005. As a regular member, he has played under the direction of Sir Colin Davis, Yakov Kreizberg, Philippe Entremont, and performed with some of the world’s most renowned soloists, such as Julia Fischer, Dejan Lazic, Pieter Wispelwey, Alexandre Tharaud. Mr Grosbard’s intense activity as a chamber musician has brought him to perform in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, England, Portugal, the Netherlands and the USA. In addition to solo appearances with the CREA Orchestra Amsterdam and the Mensa Sonora baroque ensemble, Mr Grosbard’s love for modern music has earned him the privilege of being dedicated many compositions. He has given many world premieres in venues such as Bimhuis Amsterdam, Lantaren Venster Rotterdam, the Belem Cultural Center of Lisbon, Theatre du Renard and Theatre Sudden in Paris. From his great musical versatility comes a passion for other styles of music as well: he is the co-founder of the tango orchestra “Orquesta Tipica Guardia Cadenera”, has recorded with Gotan Project for their album “Gotan Object” and with jazz guitarist Olivier Savariau in the album “Gingko”. His teachers include Prof. Sylvette Gaillard, Prof. Jean-Marie Gamard, and Prof. Herre-Jan Stegenga. He took part in many summer academies such as the Youth Course of the Orchestre Poitou-Charentes, the Mensa Sonora Baroque Summer Festival, the Trio de Paris Chamber Music Festival, International Music Courses in Greoux-Les-Bains and Biarritz, the Fontainebleau American Conservatory, the Casalmaggiore International Festival, and participated in masterclasses with Anner Bijlsma, David Geringas, Luis Claret, Michel Michalakakos, Charles Frey, Philippe Entremont, Noel Lee, Gustavo Beytelmann.
